On 12 March 2024 the latest Dutch Mortgage Borrel took place in the Vintry. For a number of attendees the tradition is born and they are happy and enthousiastic to join the yearly “borrel” to network in a very informal way. “It is great to speak to all those peers and I get inspired every time.”
We can recommend this event for all people doing business in Dutch assets. There is no program other then a short word of welcome. And the atmosphere in combination of the guests do the rest.
The second edition on March 14th 2023 was also very well attended. Fans of the first edition and additional connections that could not attend the first edition. The enthusiasm was again overwhelming and reactions afterwards motivated us to organize this third edition. That is why there will be a next edition in March 2024. The drinks and bites are great, but the real succes has been made by the guests themselves, which were very interested in having a good conversation with peers.
In 2022, on the 27th of September the FIRST ever Dutch Mortgage Borrel was organized by the Dutch mortgage lender Tulp Group, legal firm Simmons & Simmons Amsterdam and corporate servicer Vistra The Netherlands.
The initial thought of the Dutch Mortgage Borrel came from Mr. Paul Wessels, CCO of Tulp Group. His intention was to facilitate social interaction as a solid base for doing business. As he said in his opening speech [quote]: “We strongly believe in a personal level for doing business. We feel that we do not do business with companies. We like to do business with people, that are representing companies. In our eyes, business relationships are not only there for the deals. It is good to also share experiences, both business-wise and personal. We believe that part of what we are as Tulp Group, is the result of these personal partnerships”.
This first edition of the Dutch Mortgage Borrel was very well attended and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. After a short word of welcome by Mr. Paul Wessels (CCO of Tulp Group), there was an opening toast and everybody enjoyed a great evening.
